Born in Caldwell, King lived and painted in San Antonio where she had a studio in Brackenridge Park. She studied under Rolla Taylor, Mary A,. Bishop, Charles Hudson Cox, Henry Arthur McArdle, Robert Jenkins Onderdonk, Eloise Polk McGill, and Jose Arpa. King specialized in San Antonio Scenes and taught two years in the public schools.
