We recently acquired 12 original drawings by Porfirio Salinas. They were
found in the garage of the home that Porfirio last live in. The people that purchased the home from Mrs. Salinas found them on a ledge in the
garage near the rafters. They were all in a folder. The only signed one is the
Bullfight scene (sold) but these are definitely all Salinas sketches. On the small landscapes has a notation from Glasser. He represented
Salinas in those days. It is not visible in the frame but on the back of that sketch is a notation from Salinas that this was to be a commissioned painting for a colonel, possibly one of his superior officers when he was in the army. It said the finished painting would be 20 x 30 and the price would be $250.
