    Blanche Bell (1879 - 1966)

    Blanche Browne Bell (Mrs. Andrew J. Bell). 1879-1966.  San Antonio.  Painter, illustrator, graphic artist, muralist, draftsman.
        Bell was born in Helena and moved to San Antonio with her family about 1881.  She was a student of Jose Arpa, Xavier Gonzales, and Harry Anthony De Young . She died in a San Antonio hospital and was buried in the city.

Davis Competition, San Antonio (1927 honorable mention, 1928-29); Southern States Art League Annual Exhibition (1929 medal, 1930); San Antonio local Artists Annual Exhibition (1930-34,1947); River Art Group, San Antonio (1948-50); Coppini Academy of Fine Arts, San Antonio (1952,1954).
