    Ricardo Diaz 1912-81

    Ricardo Diaz  1912-81.  El Paso .  Painter, muralist, teacher, frame maker.
        Diaz attended Bowie High School, El Paso, where he participated in interscholastic art exhibitions.  Emilio Garcia Cahero gave him free lessons.  Diaz specialized in landscapes and Mexican genre works for which he made his own frames.  He taught children's classes sponsored in the 1930s by an El Paso charity for the benefit of poor children.  He died in El Paso and was buried in Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
