    Edwina Mintel (1896 - 1966)

Mintel was borin and reared in San Antonio where, at age sixteen, she took lessons from Robert Julian Onderdonk and, afterward, from Peter Hohnstedt, Rolla Taylor, John Filippone, and Jose Arpa. IN the 1920s and 1930s she operated her Bluebonnet Art School. She moved to Fredricksburg in the early 1940s where she and her husband owned and operated a dairy farm, gift shop, and electrical supply store while she gave free art lessons in a room of the building that now houses Pioneer Memorial Library. She eventually returned to San Antonio where she died.
